About our mission.

It’s a great joy to find Christians who life nearby. For people who’ve just moved into the area it’s a chance to get to know their Christian neighbours. For students it’s also a great way of linking with the neighbourhood.

Streetprayer began in 2007 when we visited all households on Edgeway Road, Oxford, UK inviting them to a prayer breakfast. Twenty people came to the first breakfast and we now hold regular events on our street or in the area around. We’ve found that not only is this a great blessing to Christians but it also builds a bridge over which people have come into the Kingdom of God. Jesus said: “May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them as you have loved me.” We believe that developing our love for one another as Christian neighbours will have a profound effect on the faith of those around us.
